The new kit designed by Icarus FC also pays homage to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Icarus FC is a Philadelphia-based clothing company that designs and produces customized football clothing. It has released a new kit that can be simply described as fresh.

The local company is launching a "fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and Philadelphia Union crossover jerseys, as well as paying tribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The new jersey was originally designed by a football graphic design brand called Screamer FC, and was described as “with the enthusiastic support of the Philadelphia League fans, with the talent and style of a fresh prince”.

A series of different colors and designs are printed on the front and back of the uniform.

"Black Lives Matter" was spray-painted white, with a black background on the front of the jersey. There is a sign in the upper right corner of the uniform that says "Philadelphia Fresh" with a crown on it. You can see the Icarus logo in the upper left corner of the kit. The jersey number is spray-painted black and has a white background on the back.

"Stay Fresh or Die" and a broken snake wearing a crown were printed on the back collar of the uniform. This feature is a redesign of the "Join or Die" snake cartoon published by Benjamin Franklin in the Pennsylvania Gazette in 1754.

The kit was originally designed by Screamer FC in February as part of Black History Month.

The jersey is available for pre-order before May 2 at a price of $64.99. Customers should allow 5-7 weeks of production and delivery time. Uniforms are available in various sizes.

Icarus Football Club has pledged to donate 15% of the proceeds from jersey sales to Black Lives Matter Philly, and the other 15% to Kensington Football Club.

The company was founded by Philadelphia resident Robby Smukler in 2017 to make the football equipment design process more widely applicable to others.

"We want to provide everyone with a design process that is truly reserved for large clubs," Smukler said in an interview with Urban Pitch in February. "We want to be a one-stop shop for the club and also provide them with the ability to customize kits."

In view of its roots in Philadelphia, Icarus Football Club also designed and produced many Philadelphia-themed football clothing.

Highlights of the collection include a shirt called "Bella Vista FC" to commemorate the Philadelphia community and its water ice products. The design is similar to the jersey worn by the English football club Aston Villa, with the word "Wüdder" printed on the front of the jersey and a Bella Vista FC logo with a glass of water ice in the upper right corner.

"For me, when designing a jersey or viewing a jersey, the most important thing is the connection between the jersey, the team and its position," Smucker said. "The kit should have an aspect that can establish a connection between all these different things."

Before the start of the 2021 season, the league launched the "BY|U" jersey designed by fans in February, reflecting the history of Benjamin Franklin and the Philadelphia area.
